Casa Program

The Nelephant Casa Classroom is a peaceful working environment that prepares our 3 to 6 year old children for life-long learning. What occurs in this classroom is the formation of the character of each human being within. The children here come away after 3 years in the program with confidence, self-assuredness, kindness, respect for others and the joy of learning.

The Scientifically-Proven
Montessori Method

Nelephant Montessori School provides a learning environment for children to develop at their own pace. A Montessori classroom is a place where creativity, innovation, and individuality are encouraged, just as much as concentration, motivation, and persistence.

Casa Program

The Nelephant Casa Program is a 3 year program which serves children 3 to 6 years of age. We have an 8:1 student:teacher ratio up to a maximum of 24 children in each class.

A Casa classroom is a microcosm of society where children learn to be responsible for themselves, their environment and each other. To allow for this, we have a family style age mix in our classrooms, allowing the younger children to learn from the older ones and giving the oldest children great leadership experience.

The Casa environment is a loving, supportive place for children to develop both academically and socially. To help start each child on the path towards reaching their potential, our Montessori teachers plan for each child individually. Lessons, for the most part, are given one on one with a teacher, however are sometimes done in pairs or small groups of children working at the same level.

The Casa Classroom

The Casa classroom is a carefully prepared environment with materials specially designed for the 3 to 6 year old child divided into 5 main areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language and Culture.

The Casa-aged child learns through their senses. The activities in this classroom can be manipulated and touched in order to make a deep impression of each concept in a child’s developing brain.

The letters in the language area, for example, are made of sand so the child can feel the sound as they trace each letter. This allows students to begin to understand abstract concepts in a concrete way. Children have the opportunity to spend 3 years in the same classroom working with these beautifully designed materials.

Casa Activities

The core of their learning experience comes from five areas of the classroom: Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language and Culture. Each area contains physically and mentally engaging materials to help your child learn through experience.

In addition to all of their learning in the classroom, children take part in weekly music and French lessons, as well as daily physical activity outdoors.
