Toddler Program
The Nelephant Montessori School Toddler Program is a warm community of children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years. It provides opportunities for social interaction, self-expression, independence, development of language as well as fine and gross motor skills.

Montessori Method
Nelephant Montessori School provides a learning environment for children to develop at their own pace. A Montessori classroom is a place where creativity, innovation, and individuality are encouraged, just as much as concentration, motivation, and persistence.
Toddler Program
Our staff encourage students on their path of independent learning by presenting many carefully selected Montessori materials. The Montessori teachers in this environment follow the child’s interests and present materials to support their individual growth.
Additionally, the teachers may gather the children for small group lessons (2-3 children) and classroom circle times. The Nelephant Montessori School Toddler Program has a 1:5 ratio (up to a maximum of 15 children), including at least one trained Montessorian as well as Early Childhood Educators.
The Montessori Method
At Nelephant Montessori School, Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy is closely followed. The materials in the classroom environments are specifically designed to allow children to feel autonomous while completing their tasks.
The Toddler environment is organized to emulate the home. Designed to allow the child independence, the room and all materials in it are carefully chosen to promote exploration of one’s own capabilities and growth through challenges. It encourages social interactions as well as a sense of community that toddlers require to develop social and emotional maturity.
Toddler Activities
The toddler children take part in a daily outdoor program that includes time on the playground and walks within the community.
Toddlers participate in a weekly music program that includes singing, dancing and musical instruments.
Toddler Class Hours
To ensure a familiar and consistent environment, children attend five days per week (either half or full-days).
Half-Day Class 8:30am–11:30am
Full-Day Class 8:30am–4:00pm
Before Care runs from 8:00am–8:30am
Aftercare runs from 4:00pm–5:00pm
